Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our financial education services

Who are these services designed for?
Our services are designed for individuals who want to understand financial concepts thoroughly before making decisions. You don't need prior financial knowledge, but you should be willing to engage with detailed information and think critically about your financial situation. Our clients typically include people considering cooperative membership, those curious about P2P lending, professionals planning major life transitions, and anyone who prefers understanding options rather than following generic advice.
How do your services differ from financial planning or advisory services?
We provide education rather than advice. We don't recommend specific products, manage investments, or tell you what to do. Instead, we teach you how various financial instruments work, what questions to ask, and how to evaluate options for yourself. Think of us as a structured learning program rather than a consulting service. After completing a service, you'll have the knowledge and tools to make your own informed decisions.
What is the time commitment for each service?
Cooperative and Credit Union Literacy involves three two-hour sessions over two weeks. Peer-to-Peer Lending Awareness consists of four 90-minute sessions over three weeks. Financial Scenario Planning is the most comprehensive, with eight weekly two-hour sessions plus individual consultation time. All sessions are scheduled at times convenient for working professionals, with evening and weekend options available.
Can I take more than one service?
Absolutely. Many clients find value in multiple services, especially since they address different aspects of financial planning. For example, someone might take Cooperative Literacy to understand their current cooperative membership, then P2P Lending Awareness when considering diversifying their savings, and later Financial Scenario Planning when approaching a major life change. Services can be taken in any order based on your current needs and interests.
What materials or tools do I receive?
Each service includes practical tools you can use independently. Cooperative Literacy provides a comparison checklist and membership evaluation guide. P2P Lending Awareness includes an evaluation framework and risk assessment checklist. Financial Scenario Planning delivers a personal three-scenario model, trigger-action protocol, decision tree templates, and quarterly review formats. All materials are provided in both digital and print formats.
Where are sessions conducted?
Group sessions are conducted at our learning space in Melaka. For participants from outside Melaka, we also offer video-based sessions via Zoom. Individual consultations (included in Financial Scenario Planning) can be conducted in person or via video call based on your preference. We maintain small group sizes to ensure everyone can ask questions and engage with the material effectively.
How do I register for a service?
Contact us via the form on this page, phone, or email. We'll schedule a brief introductory conversation to understand your current situation and learning goals, ensure the service is a good fit, and explain the upcoming session schedule. Once you decide to proceed, we'll send registration details and pre-session materials. Services typically start within two weeks of registration, depending on group availability.
